Louis E Lopez-Santiago
In Loving Memory of a Wonderful Father and Grandfather
1941 – 2025
Louis E. Lopez Santiago was a great man whose life was defined by dedication, integrity, and deep love for his family. Born in 1941 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Louis moved to New York at the age of 18 in pursuit of opportunity and a better future.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped his strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. During this time, he met the love of his life, his wife Georgiana. Following his service, Louis went on to build an extraordinary 42-year career with American Airlines, where he became known for his reliability, problem-solving skills, and commitment to his work.
To his family, Louis was affectionately known as “Grandpa Fix It,” a name earned through a lifetime of being able to fix just about anything. Whether it was a household repair or a challenge someone didn’t know how to solve, he approached every task with patience, confidence, and care. His greatest pride, however, was always his family.
Louis was a devoted father to his three daughters, Veronica, Stefanie, and Luann. He is also survived by his son-in-law Steven, husband of Stefanie, and Thomas, husband of Luann. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Steven, Sara, Andrea, Seth, Aiden, Carson, and Logan, and a cherished great-grandfather to Isabella and Dominic. To them, he was a steady presence—dependable, supportive, and deeply loved.
Louis leaves behind a lasting legacy of hard work, kindness, and generosity that will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
