Marco Charles Aruta

d. August 21, 2025

Marco Charles Aruta, a beloved husband, cherished father, devoted father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin, and dear friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2025, at the age of 72. Marco was born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 27, 1952, and grew up in Deer Park, NY, where he developed a love for cars. However, that love took on new meaning when he met his high school sweetheart, Maria (Guadagnino). Together, they built a love that most could only dream of.

Married for over 52 years, Marco and Maria spent their lives creating an incredible journey. They drove cool cars, went on adventures on Marco's motorcycle, traveled to new places, enjoyed concerts and hockey games, chased sunsets, and formed lifelong friendships. Through it all, their love for each other remained their greatest treasure, a love they shared deeply, every single day, until their final moment together.

In March of 1982, Marco's heart grew even larger with the birth of his daughter, Gina. He fell in love with her instantly. From that day forward, he lived his life for both his girls, ensuring they had everything they could possibly want-and more. Marco instilled in Gina the values of hard work, integrity, dedication, and most importantly, love. He was always there for his daughter, and she idolized him until the very end.

Marco spent many years as a truck driver in various industries, but his most recent career was in the wine and spirits sector. In addition to his work, Marco had a passion for building things with his hands. Whether it was model cars, RC cars, or other projects, he could create almost anything with his remarkable skill. Marco's greatest pride was designing and building the home he and his beloved wife, Maria, would grow old in together. It was on the day they moved in-after all the planning, effort, and love-that their dream became a reality, and they began their next chapter in the home they had envisioned together.

Marco was an avid fan of sports and cars, starting with a love for hockey (NY Islanders) and baseball (NY Yankees). Over time, his passion shifted to racing (NASCAR/NHRA) and football (NY Giants). Ultimately, Marco's weekends were reserved for his three favorite passions: Ohio State Football, Formula 1 Racing, and NFL Football. Saturdays were spent cheering on The Buckeyes, Sundays supporting Lewis Hamilton, and during the NFL season, Marco rooted for the teams with the best Ohio State players.

Marco is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; his devoted daughter, Gina, and her husband, Rooby Rosemberg; his mother, Carmella Aruta (Burgarella); his sister-in-law, Candice Lietz; his niece and nephew, Alexa and Peter Max Aruta; his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Madeline Guadagnino; his nieces, Lauren Guadagnino and Dena Wilburn; his great-nephews, Eric and Shawn Wilburn; and his brother Peter Aruta. Marco is also remembered fondly by an extensive extended family and many dear friends who will continue to celebrate his life.

Marco is predeceased by his father, Peter, his sister, Linda, and his grandparents.

Marco's memory will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. He loved deeply, and he was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. There will never be another Marco, and each of us is better for having had him in our lives.
