Margaret "Margie" Reed - lovingly known as Aunt Margie or Aunt M - danced her way into heaven on April 25, 2025, at the age of 70, likely in stylish shoes and with a bag of Squirrel Nut candies in hand.
Born on June 26, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, Margie had a spirit that could light up an entire city block. She spent most of her life in Brooklyn and Ronkonkoma before retiring to West Palm Beach, where she embraced the sunshine, shopping, and a slower pace.
Margie was a fashionista, a fierce supporter of her family, a caring home health aide, and the ultimate "fun aunt." She brought sparkle to every birthday, turned green bean casserole into a gourmet dish, and transformed ordinary outings into grand adventures. Whether it was Coney Island rides, dancing to her favorite songs, sipping cheap wine under the fireworks, or launching a water balloon war in the house - Margie made life unforgettable.
She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Daniel; her parents, Daniel and Mary; and her siblings, Daniel, Barbara, Doris, John, and Robbie. Here on Earth, she leaves behind her sister, Theresa, and her beloved nieces and nephew - Mary, Jason, and Katie - all of whom she loved fiercely and supported without question.
A celebration of Margie's life will be held on May 10, 2025, at Moloney Family Funeral Homes in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY, at 1:30 p.m.
In her honor, wear something that makes you feel beautiful, laugh with your whole heart, and spend time with the people - and moments - that matter most.
