Maria Lopes, the beloved matriarch of her family and a radiant light to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Born on January 16, 1949, Maria lived a life defined by warmth, boundless generosity, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.

To know Maria was to feel welcomed. Her home and heart were always wide open and she possessed a rare and beautiful ability to make everyone feel instantly embraced and cared for. Family was truly her whole life and Maria showed her love most deeply through her incredible cooking. She believed that feeding people was the ultimate form of affection and every dish she made was made with love.

Maria is survived by her devoted husband Domingos Lopes, who was the love of her life; her loving daughter Melissa Mamolite; and her cherished grandchildren Veronica and Brodie, who brought immense pride and joy to her world. 

While her presence will be deeply missed, the unconditional love, warmth, and traditions she poured into her family will continue to live on through generations. Maria’s legacy of love, kindness, and togetherness at the family table will remain forever etched in the hearts of those blessed enough to know her.
