It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn "Nana" Berscak, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She left us on June 17, 2024, at the age of 89. Marilyn departed this world peacefully in her sleep, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Born on June 11, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Marilyn married the love of her life, Ronald Berscak Sr in 1954 and dedicated her life to raising their family of five boys in Holbrook, NY.
Her quick wit and humor brightened the lives of everyone she encountered, making even the simplest moments unforgettable. Marilyn had an extraordinary ability to find joy in everyday life and make friends with everyone she encountered.
After Ronald Sr's passing in 2012, Marilyn remained fiercely independent, living life on her own terms and continuing to be a pillar of strength and humor for her family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her five children: Ronald Jr (Vivian) Richard (Heidi) Martin (Eve) Dennis (Diane) and Douglas (Annmarie) her 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by the countless friends who were like family to her. Marilyn's love, humor, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Memorial Celebration of Marilyns life will be held on July 1, 2024, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Moloney's Funeral Home located at 132 Ronkonkoma Av, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY 11779, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share their favorite stories. Immediately following the memorial, Funeral services will be held at Calverton National Cemetery located at 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933.
