Marilyn Ann Kiermeier

Marilyn Ann Kiermeier 1937 - 2026

Marilyn (aka Mickie) was born in Ridgewood, Queens to Viola and John Edward Reif. When Mickie was 3, her parents brought home a baby bother - John Edward ‘Butch’ Reif, Jr. For a time the family moved to Central Islip but, later returned to Ridgewood where Mickie would meet and then marry John Kiermeier.

Mickie and John would welcome 2 daughters - Wendy first followed by Karen 2 years later. They settled in East Rockaway, Long Island where they quickly became embedded in the local community. After becoming ‘single again’ Mickie continued to be active in East Rockaway.

When Mickie retired from St. John’s Hospital in Far Rockaway in 2007 Wendy and Karen were both living in Suffolk County and this was incentive for Mickie to move to Lake Grove where she lived for the next 18 years.

Mickie lived a good, long life and was adored by her family and friends - friends from her childhood days as well as the dozens of friends she made living the condo life.

Mickie is survived by her daughter Wendy Gentils (Mike) and daughter Karen Schneider (Rob). She is also survived by her granddaughter Alexandra Gentils. She will be missed by her step-grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately refer to her as ‘Mickie Girl’. Mickie remained close to her sister-in-law, cousin, their children and grandchildren who will also feel her loss deeply.

In lieu of a wake Wendy and Karen have decided on a small, intimate and private Celebration of Life to honor their mother, Mickie surrounded by her closest family and friends.
