Mario C. Piampiano, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and stepfather passed away on August 28th in Naples, Florida at the age of 93. Mario was born in Manhattan and lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of so many.
He is survived by his loving wife Gina; his sister Rose; his children Salvatore (and spouse Nancy), Vincent (and spouse Laura), Gregory (and spouse Lynda), Lynnmarie (and spouse Stephen); grandchildren Kristen, Nicole, Daniel, Nicholas, Jessica, Brianna Marissa, Stephen, Teresa, Christopher; great-grandchildren Landon, Ava, Maeve, Jack; stepchildren Leonard (and Dana), Roseanne (and Bill); step-grandchildren Cassandra and Jason.
He was preceded in death by Theresa.
Mario's love for nature and learning was evident to all who knew him. He had an insatiable curiosity about the world around him and could often be found engrossed in documentaries on the Discovery Channel. His passion for wrestling was unwavering - not a week went by without him tuning into matches with enthusiasm.
He had an appetite for good food and never passed up an invitation to Coconut Jack's for a meal or a trip to Scoops Ice Cream Parlor for his favorite pistachio ice cream.
His commitment to health extended beyond mental stimulation as well. Mario maintained a disciplined vitamin regimen and frequented both the gym and golf course daily. To keep his mind sharp he completed Sudoku puzzles along with jumbles and crosswords every day.
Despite these interests though it was clear that family came first for Mario. He took immense pride in their accomplishments, always offering support when needed most.
A "celebration of life" will be held on Saturday September 7th from 2 pm - 5 pm @ Moloney's Lake Funeral Home located at 132 Ronkonkoma Ave. Lake Ronkonkoma, NY
Mario’s absence leaves an unfillable void but we take comfort knowing that his spirit lives on through those whose lives he touched so deeply.
