We are saddened to share the passing of Mary Murphy, who died peacefully at the age of 94 on February 27, 2025, from natural causes. Born on August 25, 1930, in Central Islip, New York, Mary dedicated her life to helping others as a caring social worker at NYS Hospital Central Islip.
She is survived by her loving son, Kevin Herrera; granddaughters, Jessica and Katelyn; and great-grandson, Noah. They will honor her memory and carry her spirit with them.
A Funeral Mass will be held on March 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. John of God R.C. Church, followed by a graveside service at Queen of All Saints Cemetery at 12:00 PM. Visitation will take place on March 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM at Moloney Funeral Home.
Mary will be laid to rest in her hometown of Central Islip. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service. May she rest in peace.
She was preceded in death by Gerald Murphy and Bridget Murphy.
