Mildred "Millie" Haase (née McKenna), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Center Moriches, New York, after a short illness. She was 91 years old.
Born on January 27, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Millie grew up with a strong sense of family and faith that would guide her throughout her life. A devoted Catholic, she found spiritual solace and community at St. John the Evangelist Church in Center Moriches and St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church in Mastic Beach.
Millie dedicated much of her life to serving others and fostering connections within her community. She was a proud member of the Mastic Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 63 years, contributing her time and energy to support the department’s efforts. Her commitment to camaraderie extended to her active participation in the Manor of St. George Senior Citizens Club, where she formed lasting friendships and brought joy to countless gatherings. Additionally, Millie was a member of the VFW in Patchogue, New York, where she supported veterans and their families.
Above all else, Millie was the heart of her family. She shared an enduring love with her late husband, Allan Haase, who predeceased her. Together they built a family filled with love and laughter that continues to thrive as her legacy. Millie is survived by her daughters Cheryl Corbin (Frank) and Vicki Fahie (Billy); her sons David Haase and Daniel Haase (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Robert Sabatelli (Danielle), Tiffany Haase (Danny), Eddie Haase (Annie); Dan Haase, Jr., Derek Haase (Elizabeth) and Tori Dunn (Tom) and great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Danny, Violet, Mackenzie, Grayson, Luca, Lorenzo, and Briella; all who will forever cherish their memories of her warmth and humor.
Millie's vibrant spirit was infectious—she had a way of bringing light into every room she entered. Her fun-loving nature touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether celebrating life's joys or navigating its challenges, Millie’s unwavering love united those around her. As her family lovingly expressed: “Her love and legacy live on in our beautifully dysfunctional family! We will always remember the good, the happy, and the sad times we have shared through the years—and we will always remember you as the heart of our family.”
May Millie's memory bring comfort to all who knew her as they honor a life well-lived and deeply loved. A Wake will be held on March 4, 2026, from 03:00 PM to 09:00 PM at Moloney-Sinnicksons Funeral Home 203 Main Street, Center Moriches, NY.
