**In Loving Memory of Neiva Delgado **January 8, 1947 – June 9, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Neiva Perez, 79, of Manorville, New York, announces her peaceful passing at home on June 9th, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 8, 1947, in Manta, Ecuador, Neiva was the beloved daughter to the late Jose Delgado Lopez and Yolanda Delgado de Delgado. In 1962, she moved to the United States and settled in the Bronx, New York, where she built a life centered on family, compassion, and service to others. She graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City and went on to dedicate her life to helping those in need.
Neiva was a hardworking woman both in and out of the home, leading by example through her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She worked tirelessly as a Community Service Director for Urban Strategies in Brooklyn, New York, where she supported families in securing housing, employment, childcare, educational opportunities, and access to food assistance. Her generosity and caring spirit extended far beyond her profession. She opened her home and heart to individuals struggling with mental health issues, helping care for their medical and daily needs with dignity and love.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Neiva found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family. She loved traveling the world and creating adventures with her husband and loved ones. However, neither hiking to the top of Machu Picchu mountain, nor riding camels in Dubai could compare to the great joy she got from sharing her passion for New York City with her grandchildren. Her home was always full of warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of traditional meals lovingly prepared for family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Andres Perez of 53 years; her loving children, Louis Palacio, Annabell Gwiazdoski, Michelle Foster, and Noemi Barczak; her cherished sons-in-law, Matthew Gwiazdoski, Michael Foster, and Tom Barczak; her nine beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Benjamin, Lucinda, Diego, Amelia, Julian, Lillian, Thomas, and Maximus, whom she adored endlessly; her dedicated sister, Evita Sanabria and nephew Roberto Sanabria.
Reunited in peace by her two siblings who passed before her Jorge Garcia and Carlos Delgado as well as her parents.
Neiva will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, selfless spirit, and the beautiful life she shared with others. Her compassion touched countless lives, and her legacy of generosity and resilience will continue through all who knew her.
