Nirmaladevi S. Unni

Our beloved Amma (Nirmala Unni) passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on January 28th, 2024 in Kings Park, New York, USA, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Arun and daughter in law Anita, daughter Rekha and son-in-law Vijaykumar, son Sethu and daughter-in-law Sujatha, her grandchildren, Sharanya and her husband Joshua, Asha and her husband Vivek, Sanjay and his wife Madeline, Arjun, and Sunitha, and her great-grandsons, Dev, Ravi, and Ashwin.

Always affectionate, giving and thoughtful, Amma will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend and most of all as Achan’s devoted wife and our cherished Amma, Ammama and Muthashi. She will also always be remembered by her special love for cooking, enjoying different foods, and constantly nourishing and caring for those around her.

We are so thankful for the joy she brought to all of us, and the precious memories we have made with her whether they be in Tattamangalam, Palakkad, or the US. We are blessed that her final weeks, and years, included happy moments and conversations with her family and friends, near and far. We will miss her dearly, and find comfort that she is now with our Achan and Achacha, and her best friend of 62+ years.
