Patricia C. Gerard

Patricia Gerard of Remsenburg, New York, passed away at the age of 89 on July 31, 2025. She was born in 1936 in the family home in Eastport to Edward and Mildred Collins. In 1971, she joined the Eastport Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as president and remained a member until her death. Over the years, she was involved in political and local civic organizations.Pat married Lester Gerard in the living room of the home they built together in 1975. They worked side by side in his law office in Eastport. She continued to work with him as he later became interested in town politics. Pat loved Hawaii tremendously. For 28 years, she and Lester spent the month of January exploring the islands and seeing friends they made along the way.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Christopher Bernth, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Megan and Matthew Berzenthy, and her great-grandson, Jameson Berzenthy. Pat is the loving sister of Thomas Collins and the late Edward Collins Jr., and is survived by Edward’s wife, Diane, and their daughters, Ruthann and Kerin. Throughout her life, Pat was always an animal lover and rescued many dogs and cats. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Kent Animal Shelter or Tunnel to Towers.
