Patricia H. Terrell, 85 years old of Sayville, NY, passed away peacefully on Dec. 10th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born March 21, 1940, in New York, to Wilson and Lillian Taylor,
She married Michael (Mickey) Terrell (deceased) in 1960 until his death in 1983.
Patricia was known for her kindness and dedication to family and friends and is survived by her children: Tracy, Michael, Debbie, and Dennis
Grandchildren: Danielle & Tyler, Kiera & Chris, Vienna & Colin, Dennis & Matt, Dana & Rich and Deanna, and Great-grandchildren: Charlie, Raegan and Roman.
Patricia retired from John T. Mather Memorial Hospital. In addition to her career in Medical Records, she worked as a bus driver for Special Need Children and earlier in her career at Ethan Allen.
Patricia known as Aunt Pat to her family and Pat to her dear friends, loved to cook and bake, teaching her children and grandchildren her Macaroni & Cheese, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Soda Bread and Thanksgiving Stuffing recipes to carry on family traditions.
She was a long-time member of the Sayville Village Improvement Society and especially enjoyed making goodies for the Bake Sales at the Sayville Ferry Dock
Pat loved Languages and practiced Spanish with her Brentwood Library group weekly, where they helped her with her Spanish, and she helped them with their English. The group became friends and would get together each summer with a Spanish themed Potluck sharing their favorite dishes.
Her curious nature led her to trace the family’s genealogy, first by corresponding with the churches in Ireland then traveling to Ireland to further her research.
Her greatest joy was her Grandchildren – known for her “Nana and Me Days” she would take them on their first train ride: Sayville to Speonk to what was once known as the Trackside Café for Ice Cream at the station and across the tracks in time to catch the returning train. Or it might be off to Flo’s for ice cream, or into the city to a museum.
As the Parkinson’s progressed, her mobility became limited. New pleasure was found spending time with her great grandchildren, teaching and singing songs, drawing in coloring books and eating ice cream – always room for ice cream! And Spanish - Spanish would become a valuable way for Aides to communicate with her, most being surprised that our little white haired Irish lady was fluent in Spanish.
What we’ll remember most is the Love – the unwavering, unconditional Love she gave, the strength and resilience she showed and instilling in us her favorite saying: Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
Patricia will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, and laughter.
