The family and friends of Pauli Suominen grieve his passing on Long Island on April 25th.
The family and friends of Pauli Suominen mourn his loss on Long Island on April 25th.
Pauli proudly served in Vietnam as a United States Marine. He came home to help to construct and improve many of the homes on Long Island. He had a tough work ethic which impressed many colleagues but found joy in expressing himself through his art. Fellow artists were drawn to the playfulness of his creations. Some of his sculptures might catch your eye as you travel the area. Never forgetting the influence that the Marine Corps had on his life many of them incorporated the red, white and blue of our American flag as a tribute to his service.
Remembering his boyhood days of summer fun on the lovely beaches of the North Shore or surfing the waves at Ditch Plains were why he never wanted to leave Long Island.
Gathering together all the facets of this life can be seen someone who was a truly original, remarkable man.
Pauli's son Zachery died shortly before he did.
In cherished memory to loving husband, father, brother and friend are his wife Christine, daughter Samantha and sister, Leila plus 2 special canine companions.
