Philip J. Puglisi

d. Aug 3, 2026

Philip J. Puglisi, 64, of Manhattan, NY passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026. He is the beloved father of Janice Lanaro (Anthony) and Philip Puglisi; grandfather of Catalina and Santina Lanaro; cherished brother of Elaine Puglisi (Paul Buffini); longtime companion of Fiel Pimentel; and loving uncle of Jennifer Bellardini (Edwin Diaz III), Michelle Bellardini, and Michael Hasbrouck. He is also survived by his former wife, Lynne St. John - Rohl, former mother in law Marian St. John and extended family who remained a special and dear part of his life.

Born on September 23, 1961 in Glen Cove, NY to Philip Puglisi and Josephine Genovese - Puglisi, he had a strong sense of adventure that he inherited from his mother. He loved to explore his adopted hometown of Manhattan, NY and would walk countless miles in his exploration, taking in the sites around him and making discoveries amongst the streets and botanical gardens. He also had an admiration for nature and the outdoors, taking in many scenic sunsets and monumental snowstorms.

He was an avid driver, being a truck driver by trade and driving the roads on his adventures. Most notable of his road trips was a three week road trip that he took with his sister Elaine to Florida in February 2025. Most recently the road took him to explore Atlantic City, NJ and the scenic countryside of Upstate, NY where he rode an all-terrain vehicle to explore the rural area of Johnsburg and traveled to the area of Lake Placid to hike Whiteface Mountain.

However, out of all of his life’s greatest pleasures, anyone who knew him knew that his greatest pleasure came from being a grandfather. He was the most devoted grandfather and loved taking photos of his beautiful granddaughters Catalina and Santina. Not only did he admire their beauty, he loved to spend time with them, and he was a very proud grandfather.

He leaves behind many loved ones who will greatly miss him. We believe that he was welcomed into Heaven by his parents who predeceased him. They are in each other’s company now and looking forward to watching the reopening of the Belmont Racetrack from Heaven.
