Regina G. Sparks

April 28, 2025

Regina "Jean" Sparks, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 98. Born to Joseph W. Gorman and Helen (Kelly), in Brooklyn, NY on February 17, 1927, Jean lived a life marked by love, resilience, and devotion to her family.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sparks, a WWII veteran, who passed away in 2009. Together, they raised a family rooted in love and mutual respect. Jean and Harold's marriage, which began shortly after World War II, was the foundation of a home full of warmth, memories and love. In 1954 they moved to Glen Cove, NY, with their three small children. During the next 7 years they added four more where Jean became the proud and dedicated mother of a total of seven children: Michael, Joanne, Stephanie, Tricia, Susan, Karen, and Christine.

Jean’s family was her greatest joy, and she poured her love into her children, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren the best way she knew how. Her spirit, wisdom, and sense of humor will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Jean was known for her strength and kindness. She was a devoted mother who balanced the demands of raising a large family with unwavering love and a strong sense of responsibility. She was also a source of support to her neighbors, friends and extended family, always ready with a helping hand.

Jean's legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her selflessness, and her enduring spirit.
