Richard Joseph Batista

Richard J. Batista Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Born on January 7, 1938 in Manhattan, NY. Richard was the son of Pillar and Armelio Batista. He graduated from Aviation High School and later earned a degree in Aviation Maintenance. He enjoyed a successful career spanning more than 40 years, earning the respect of colleagues and friends for his dedication and integrity.

Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He believed in working hard and taking care of his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irma; his children Rich, Ed and Alex; and nine grandchildren.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Monday, July 6, at 12 noon.

Richard will be deeply missed and always remembered for his love and devotion to his family and his unwavering work ethic that he exemplified.
