Richard Daigle, devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on September 14, 1937, in Fort Kent, Maine, Richard spent his childhood in Maine before moving to Connecticut and then settling on Long Island where he built a life and family, he was deeply proud of.
Richard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, he built a career as a carpenter, builder, and contractor. He owned JDG Enterprises and Ledgewood Building. He was happiest when he had a project to work on, whether building something from the ground up or working in the yard. Richard took great pride in everything he built.
Richard was known for his kindness, compassion, wit, and humor. He was a loving husband and father who taught his children the value of hard work, respect, and taking care of the people you love. He was always there for his family and had a special way of making the people around him feel loved.
Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara Daigle; his children Deborah Daigle and Curt Daigle; his grandchildren, Ryan Daigle, and Jordyn Daigle; and his sister Ann Wicks and her husband Bob Wicks.
Above all, Richard will be remembered as a kind and loving man with a great sense of humor who devoted himself to the people he loved.
Love has no bounds, and it never dies.
