Rohan Nayyar
09.23.1994 - 06.24.2025
Rohan Nayyar, 30, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, shortly after his move to Palm Springs, California. Adored by many, Rohan is survived by his sorrow-stricken parents, Pankaj and Anju Nayyar; and his heartbroken sister Rhea. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Rohan’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wild Bird Fund.
Rohan will be cherished in eternity for his side-splitting sense of humor and dry wit, his fierce willpower and endurance, his thoughtfulness and sensitivity, and his loyalty and devotion to those who had the privilege of having him in their lives. To have known him was to be blessed with the gifts of love, kindness, hilarity, and endless support.
He was born in Manhattan, and raised in Boston, Massachusetts; Cumberland, Rhode Island; and finally Syosset, New York, before pursuing secondary education at SUNY Binghamton. Thereafter, he moved back to Manhattan to work in deal advisory at KPMG and, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, global transaction analytics at Alvarez+Marsal, where he became a Director. When he wasn’t feverishly typing away on Excel on and off the clock, Rohan spent his quality time making innumerable core memories with his beloved friends — some of whom he had known for over 20 years.
Embodying the true duality of man, Rohan enjoyed skiing, hiking, world travel, new restaurants, and missing countless shots on the basketball court just as much as he loved his PlayStation, religiously rewatching the same five TV shows, annual Fantasy Football drafts, and ordering takeout on UberEats. He loved rap and hip-hop and rarely (unwillingly) ceded control of the Spotify queue, and made evident his taste for the finer things of life from snowy mountain tops to crystal-clear Caribbean waters.
Rohan’s passing at the prime of his life is an incalculable and inexplicable loss, especially in the face of the monumental adversities he had overcome and the glorious future he had set up for himself. Through the hardest parts, he only learned to love deeper, invest more into his friendships, further exact his comedic timing, and quench his thirst for adventure.
Please join the Nayyar family in celebrating Rohan’s life, in coping with the tragedy of his departure, and adjusting to his absence. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Those who are unable to attend may find the services livestreamed, or kindly leave a message in memory of Rohan on his obituary page.

In addition to his parents and sister, Rohan will be sorely missed by aunts Archana, Niru, and Amita (Arvind); uncles Anil (Rekha), Sunil (Seema), and Ashish (Bhavna); and cousins Shaarang (Meesha), Shaurya (Pooja), Urvashi (Ansul), Aditya (Shruti), Mickey (Seema), Ankur, Swati, Nidhi, Maanuv (Yi), Sonam, Karan (Swati), Aleesha, and Ruchika. He was a beloved mamu to Shalini, Samarth, Naveen, and Yash, and chachu to Veer, Ishaan, Miraya, and Milan. His loss will be felt by countless loved ones and dear friends across the world.
