Salvatore M Blando, retired NYPD Captain Detective Bureau Manhattan passed away peacefully on Sept. 29, 2026. He is survived by his wife Laura, his three sons and daughters in law Salvatore Jr., and Lisa, Christopher and Kristine, Michael and Ana , 7 grandchildren; Salvatore III, Angelo, Michael, Kelly, Lauren, Michelle, Massimo and his sister and brother in law Roseann and Frank Palazzolo.
After retiring from the NYPD he began a new career as Director of Security at The Plaza Hotel, The Palace Hotel and The Trump International Hotel.
His legendary stories, sense of humor, leadership of his commands and staff and love for his family and friends are unsurpassed. God bless Sal Blando.
