Salvatore Sollazzo beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud American, passed away on February 5, 2026 at the age of 80. Born in Sicily, he came to the United States at just 12 years old, the youngest of four, and built a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and love. He grew up in Brooklyn, served his country with honor, and in 1968 met the love of his life, Mary. They married in 1970 and went on to raise four children Rob, Laura, Michael, and Christine who were his greatest joy.
Salvatore worked for the utilities company and served in the National Guard, later retiring from KeySpan before returning to full-time service in the Army. He was respected by colleagues, cherished by friends, and adored by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all, Salvatore was a family man. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Mary, and their four children along with seven grandchildren who lit up his world and who will forever carry his gentle strength, quiet humor, and the deep love he poured into them.
