It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, Saroj Lata Gupta, who passed away October 29, 2025. Saroj was truly a force of nature, courageous in every meaning of the word -- from being the first woman in her family to not only graduate from college, but complete two masters degrees; to traveling for the first time out of Jammu & Kashmir upon marriage to a new husband, a new country, continents away; to fighting as a warrior against pancreatic cancer, and finally succumbing to the battle. Most of all, no one loved her grandchildren more fiercely.

Saroj's presence on earth will be deeply missed by everyone, especially her loving spouse, Surendra; her son and his wife, Salil and Lynn, and their 2 kids, Sarik and Diya; and her daughter and her husband, Shilpi and Omar and their son Zayn.

We kindly ask anyone who is able to share memories with Saroj's children and grandchildren, especially stories they may not know.
