Dr. Shetra Sivamurthy

Shetra Sivamurthy, MD, 83, of Whitestone, NY, passed away on August 2, 2026, in New York City. Born in Holalkere, Karnataka India, on November 11, 1942, to the late Veerabhadrappa and Sivamma. Shetra demonstrated brilliance early, entering Mysore Medical College at just 15 years of age. In 1965, he emigrated to the United States to complete his medical training, embarking on a distinguished career as a Hematologist/Oncologist before retiring from Jamaica Hospital in 2024.

He shared 60 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Jaya, and leaves behind a loving family: his daughter, Apsara; his son, Nayan; daughter-in-law Shefali; and his cherished grandchildren, Nikhil and Neha.

Friends and family can pay their respects during visitation and services on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00-11:30 AM EDT at Moloney's Lake Funeral Home, Ronkonkoma, NY.
