Sonya Kupchak

    With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sonya Kupchak, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who departed this life peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 102. 

Born on June 14, 1924, in New York City, NY. Sonya lived a vibrant life, marked by her passion for art and the fashion industry, where she made her mark as a talented fashion illustrator for Emma Maloof in Manhattan.     

Sonya’s colorful personality and creative spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Beloved daughter to The Late Abraham and The Late Cecilia Parfomchuk. 

Loving wife to The Late Harry Kupchak. She was a dedicated mother to her children, Sandra Schmidt, Mitchell Kupchak, Bruce Kupchak, and The Late Gregory Kupchak. 

Sonya is a cherished grandmother to Joshua Schmidt (Jessica) and Maxwell Kupchak, the late Alina Kupchak, as well “GG” to her great-grandchildren, Caden, Kiera, and Kenna Schmidt.     

Sonya's warmth and compassion resonated with everyone around her. 

Her legacy of love and artistry will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.     

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew and loved Sonya to join us in celebrating her life and the beautiful memories she created. 

She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
