Thomas A. Dougherty

Thomas Dougherty passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and loyal friend.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and integrity. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career with the Suffolk County Water Authority, where he was respected for his hard work and reliability.

Above all, Thomas was a family man. He was the beloved father of Erin, Cara, and the late Tommy. He shared his life with his second wife and the love of his life, Lynne Dougherty. He was a devoted stepfather to Lori and her husband Bobby, Michelle, Jonathan and his partner Nora, and a cherished step-grandfather to Justine, Vinny, Angelina, Billy, Jarad, Jake, and Jenna.

Outside of work and family, Thomas found his greatest joy on the water. His love of boating brought him peace and happiness, and he treasured the many moments spent on the water with family and friends.

Thomas’s kindness, strength, and quiet generosity touched everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
