Veronica Ann Meehan

The passing of Veronica Ann Meehan, age 93 years young who lately resided in Rockaway Beach, was attended with great sorrows by those who loved her and those who knew her. This passing into glory was at 9:38 am on the third of October, 2018. The cause of death was sudden over the course of one week and one day.

Vera was born on February 27, 1925 in the City of New York to Charles and Anna ( Holmes ) Capilets. She found and showed an exceptional joy in living and worked at Macy’s, Fortunoff’s, and The Town and Country Day School. Her impact on family and community was one of unquestionable lifelong service. Her fine sense of humor and attention to children was always noticed and appreciated by welcomed guests and strangers alike. Her refined sense of hospitality and humility will be missed by all.

Ronnie is preceeded by her parents, her brother Joseph Capilets, her sister Florence Tumminello, and her husband John T. Meehan.

Mia is survived by her brother and sister in law Charles and Barbara Capilets, her 5 children Maureen Meehan, Kevin Barry, Nora Pfister, Patricia Leighton, Veronica Litras, her 9 grandchildren Sean, Devin, Jason, Zachary, Michael, David, Olivia, Jared, Sarah, and was the great grandmother to Richard George.

As for those who loved her and knew her, we will always carry these memories of her in our hearts. For so it is.
