Vicky (Wieslawa) L. Czaplick

Wieslawa “Vicky” Czaplick passed away on July 29, 2026 at the age of 77 years, after 19 months of supportive home care with her children as family caregivers.

Wieslawa Czaplick was born in Wroclaw, Poland on October 7, 1948. In 1963, at the age of 14 years old, she immigrated to the United States with her parents Anna and Boleslaw Klekocinski, sister Barbara and brother Richard. The Klekocinski family settled in the community of Speonk, where many other Polish immigrants had settled at the time, living near other cousins and relatives. Vicky attended Eastport School.

In 1967, Vicky married Andrew “Andy” Czaplick and they resided in Westhampton. Together, they had 5 children over the years: Linda Kabot, Mary Oliver, Andrea "Cookie" Pavolonis, Nicole "Nicky" Czaplick, and Andrew Czaplick Jr. Vicky and Andy divorced in 1995, and Vicky raised her youngest two children as a single mother.

Vicky worked for IGHL at the White Oak Group Residence in Westhampton for 17 years assisting with the care needs for developmentally disabled residents. She retired in 2018 and was acknowledged as a stellar long-time employee and having a big heart. Prior to IGHL, Vicky worked as a housekeeper for many years.

“Maama Vicky” has 7 grandchildren – Jeffrey Kabot, Zachary Kabot, Connor Kabot, Jaqueline Oliver-Weber, Frank Oliver, Jake Pavolonis, and Jonathan Chih. Her favorite family member was always her son Andrew. Andrew became Vicky’s primary caregiver over the past several months as her health declined. Vicky’s other favorite family members was her cat “Boo-Baa,” who remains in the care of Andrew. Vicky’s life was centered around the care of her son Andrew and daughter Nicky, and when actively working at IGHL – the “consumers” (taking care of the “guys” and the “girls”). After retirement, taking care of her cat and continuing her love of “Cash Words” scratch-offs were her favorite activities.

Visitation by Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday August 5 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Moloney Sinnickson Funeral Home, located at 203 Main Street in Center Moriches. Vicky will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, located at 43 Main Street in Center Moriches, in the Klekocinski family plot with a graveside burial service on Thursday, August 6 at 11:30 am.
