It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Michael Miller, age 92, on April 9, 2026, of Holbrook, New York. Born on September 18, 1933, in New Hyde Park, New York, Victor lived a life devoted to his family and community.
Victor enjoyed a long and loving marriage of 71 years to his cherished wife, Helen (Fogerty) Miller. Together, they raised six children: Patricia (John) Slokovitz, Linda (Angelo) Esposito, the late Ellen Rizzi, Karen (Frank) Russo, the late Victor Miller, and Elaine (Thomas) Zimmardi. Loving Pop Pop to: Nichole Vickers, John (Mary) Slokovitz, the late Michael Slokovitz, Crystal Russo (Jose Gomez), Jacqueline Russo, Carissa (Brendan) Costello, Michael (Elisset) Rizzi, Elizabeth Ashley Rizzi, Vincent Miller, Toni (Michael) Valenti, Amanda Hill, Stephanie (Miles) Gope, the late Jamie Miller, and step-grandchildren: Kimberly Chrapowitzky, Lauren (Dean) Rupe, and Thomas (Jessica) Zimmardi. He also leaves behind 22 great-grandchildren: Dontae, Kurt, Kora, Kris, Jackson, Miles, Colin, LJ, Christian, Declan, Raygen, Alexandra, Chayse, Rylee, Addyson, Olivia, Oliver, Hailee, Austin, James, Nicco, Arya, and one great-great-grandchild, Savannah, whose lives he enriched with love and laughter.
Victor is survived by his brother, Frank (JoAnne) Miller, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Miller, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five siblings: William, Dolores, Al, Adele, and Lorraine.
A man of great character, Victor served as a dedicated security guard for the Sachem School District for 25 years. He was actively involved in his community as a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 124 for fifty years and held the esteemed position of President of St. Joseph's CYO in the 1960s. Affectionately referred to as the "Mayor of Holbrook," Victor was known for his humor and ability to connect with others, always ready with a joke that would light up any gathering. He was proud of his full head of white hair. His love for family gatherings, especially being the family's Santa during Christmas festivities, a passion for camping, and fondness for Myrtle Beach brought joy to his life. He was also a die-hard Mets fan. Among other things, he enjoyed completing the Newsday Cryptoquote and tanning on his deck. Victor had a fondness for dogs, particularly his beloved Loki.
Victor Michael Miller will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
