William Gelgand Jr.

William Gelgand Jr. passed away at the age of 56, surrounded by the love of his family on June 11th, 2026, at Stony Brook University Hospital. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted daughter Jessica Gelgand, his caring mother Claire Gelgand, his adoring sisters Lisa, Diane, and Susan, the mother of his child Jeanine Gelgand, along with his extended family and dear friends. Born on April 16th, 1970, in Queens, New York, William devoted his life to working with his hands, and was the dedicated project manager for Mechanical Solutions. On January 16th, 2005, he welcomed his beloved daughter, who brought endless joy to his life. William was a loving father, a jokester with a ready smile, and a jack-of-all-trades. He cherished every moment spent with his daughter, enjoyed countless fishing adventures with friends, shared laughter while betting on cars at the racetrack, found happiness in rock and country music and scenic drives, and sought excitement as a spirited daredevil. Known for his generosity and problem-solving spirit, he gladly took on projects at work and at home, always ready to help others. His warm and kind soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to a viewing, open to all, from 2:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, June 14th, at Moloneys Hauppauge Funeral Home on Wheeler Road. The following day William will be privately cremated. Flowers, cards, and condolences are welcome and deeply appreciated.
