Carl Stephens, Jr.

Born April 15, 1953 to the late Carl Sr and Frances Stephens, Carl grew up on what some referred to as the “Laudman Family Compound”, a pastoral five plus acre property in Flushing, Queens, next door to his maternal Grandparents, Frank and Josie Laudman, and Aunt and Uncle, Ann and Chester Sobkiewicz. It was by all accounts, the epicenter of family life, and which served to forge indelible lifelong familial bonds. He attended Holy Family School, and, after the family moved to Oceanside in 1965, St Christophers School (Baldwin) and Maria Regina DHS (Uniondale), where he graduated in 1971. Carl attended the University of Dayton and later held various management positions in the retail food service industry, until a serious automobile accident led him to pursue studies in the computer field. It was during this period he met and married the love of his life Susan. In time, they settled in Ronkonkoma, where they raised their son and various pets until her untimely passing in 2011. Carl held various IT positions at Long Island Savings Bank, North Fork Bank, Capital One Bank and finally Bank United in Miami Lakes Florida, where he served as the Banks Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO) until his retirement in 2018. Due to health concerns, he returned back to Long Island from San Marco Island, Florida, where he resided until his passing.
