So sorry for your loss. I know the relationship you had with your Dad and what kind of father/grandfather/person he was. Prayers with you and your entire family in this tough time.

Charlie, I always enjoyed working with you. I will always remember you for your willingness to always help people out, your great stories, big smile and awesome laugh and the way your face would light up when you spoke of your Grandson. I will be sending you a "radio check" up to heaven!!
Colleen Barnes Irvin left a message on May 17, 2021:
My family (the Barnes family) live across the street from the Albens family from 1965 - 1970. Charlie and Patsy were wonderful to us. So were their parents. I can remember Charlie telling me at six years old that I was his girlfriend and he would say, “I’m going to wait for you to grow up and then he would marry me.” Of course I would blush whenever he teased me. He and my dad, Dick Barnes, really enjoyed talking and joking around with each other and I’m sure they are enjoying one another in heaven. The end of the story ... because my family moved to Florida when I was 11 years old. My friends and I stopped to see him and his family (he has a beautiful wife who made us each a Tom Collins drink) and we sat on the back steps catching up on each of our family members. It was a great visit and to meet his family was the icing on the cake. Needless to say, Charlie didn’t wait for me to grow up. Instead he married the woman of his dreams and they created a beautiful, warm, loving family.

So sad to hear of Charlie’s passing — He came to Dublin in about 1959 with his Granddad Jack — - he was about 12 -I was a couple of years older — all my friends were so impressed that we had a Real American Boy visiting us —-over the years we met numerous times at family gatherings in Maureens home - Weddings Anniversaries- Birthday’s etc — and he never seemed to change from the fun boy visiting Dublin all those years ago —Sincere condolences to Pat - Chuck - Carmel - Patsy and Billy - thinking of you all at this sad time . I will always remember our back and forth banter. You are one of the nicest AND funniest persons I have known. You always had me in stitches with the great jokes and stories you told. There are some men you meet in your life. and they come and go, Then you gat a chance to meet a MAN, and your life is enriched forever. Charlie Alben was such a MAN... He embodied what a man should be, in his daily life.. Loving husband, father, and friend. I met Charlie through a mutual friend, and we fast became friends. We continued that friendship for more time than I can count. He was a MAN that you could count on to be there if you needed him. There are few men I can say that about. I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes with him recently, and as we spoke, the years dropped away. We laughed and told some jokes, (of which he always had good ones), and not once did he complain of his ailment. He was that kind of MAN. I will miss him, and am certain he is with his son Chris, and others that have passed before him.. He will be looking down on those he loved, and God will have some new jokes to appreciate... Rest easy, my friend.. I'll be along after a while....
