To the Hendersohot family: I knew Ed Hendershot since my teenage years. He was an excellent police officer and great golfer. I remember fondly the trip we had with another PO and Fireman to Myrtle Beach in the 1970's We had a great time and it was a great time of our lives. I am saddened when I heard that Ed had passed from a friend of mine. Dot best to you and your family Joe Fritz

I first met Ed 30 years ago. A fine gentleman with a great sense of humor. He was very kind and thoughtful. My sympathy to his family.

Although you tried your best to keep us kids safe, we didn’t make it easy on you. Even though we were always trying to put one over on you, you always had our respect. All these years we have remembered you fondly. -We are the Over the “Hills” Gang from Second Ave & Timberline Dr 1973 - 1976.

Ed, you were a great cop and a fine man of impeccable character. It was a privilege and an honor to be your partner for five years. This is a great loss for your family and the thin blue line. Sorry I could not get together with you one last time.....maybe down the road.

You kept us safe and gave everything. Thank you for your courage and bravery, heartfelt condolence go to your family, who will be rightly very proud. Nothing will fill the void in their lives that your passing has caused, I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked along side Ed for several years at the third pct. Now another blue angle. RIP brother.

We knew Ed after he retired and admired his cooking ability and what a wonderful host he was. However, in speaking to his son, Scot, we found out so much more about him. He received 2 purple hearts, many accommodations in his career as a police officer, and was invited to try out for a pro base ball team after high school. So now we must say he was also very humble. His illness shortened his life in such an untimely fashion that is so very sad. As the saying goes, it is not the years in your life, but the life in your years. We believe Ed enjoyed a good life for the short time he was here. He had faith, family, a fulfilling career and many interests and hobbies. We had some good times together, enjoying our grandchildren together. May God grant him rest, peace and wholeness as he enters into eternal life, and may God help his family erase the memory of his struggle with illness and remember him with the moments that takes their breath away; the happy times to treasure in their hearts forever. Love, Sue and Alan
