My deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved her.
I was a high school and then forever friend of Elaine Everson. I spent many days and especially holidays at the house in Bay Ridge when Aunt Gladys and Uncle Charlie would visit. I will never the forget the love that Gladys had for her baby boys. It was closely followed by the love of Aunt Helen! Please accept my condolences to those boys and their families.
Sincerest condolences to the Everson family. Gunnar, Grace, Lesley and Ken have you all in our thoughts and prayers.
We are very sorry for your loss. Growing up I have great memories of waiting with my bicycle for Aunt Gladys at the corner of Hillside and Noyac Road so I could lead her and her big van full of my cousins to our Sag Harbor house knowing fun was in store. Fun times on Trout Pound and Mecox as well as her back yard pool! She was a kind and fun to be around. We were always impressed with her sense of independence, adventure and travel even her later years. She will truly me missed.
Gladys was a person who was genuinely likable the moment you met her. She was truly kind and caring for both her friends and family. Our family could not have had a better sister and friend. Gladys will be missed by so many. We will remember her with both sadness and joy.
With love, Irene and Mike

I am so very sorry for the Everson family. This just fills my heart with sadness.
Gladys was a wonderful family friend of over 60 yrs. She put my braces on when I was 8 yrs old when she worked for the orthodontist in NYC, which I disliked going to by the way. Our families were great friends and I babysat all the boys. We shared family fun and adventures. Such a kind, calm , jovial soul. Chinese auctions were the best when we went together and would just laugh the entire time- winnah !!. Mahjong was the game of choice- 3 BAM, 2 CRACK. She taught me how to make Krumkake, and that it was ok to have pancakes for dinner. She made me apron 30 yrs ago that I lovingly wear when I bake cookies. She loved her family and often said how blessed she was to have her sons
I will miss her immensely. And yes, I am still on the bike path ...
Gladys is such a kind soul. She was so caring and supportive to John and his siblings. She will be greatly missed.

Great women , created a beautiful family , and had one of the purest hearts in this world .
We'll always remember the fun times we had in the line dancing classes for all those years.
So lucky and blessed to have had an aunt and godmother like Gladys. She brought warmth, sunshine and laughter to everyone she knew. Gladys was the family genealogist proudly reminding us of our Norwegian heritage. Some of the memories of Gladys that I will always treasure are making the annual pilgrimage to the Sons of Norway Hall in St. James and having a bowl of lapskaus with lefse, listening to country and western music in her car with the sun streaming through the windows, savoring her delicious krumkake, reading her hysterically funny emails and having late night chats punctuated with lots of belly laughs. Most of all, I will miss her love, kindness, compassion and support. And, did I mention what a strong Viking lady she was! Gladys was a beautiful woman, inside and out. Hope they've got Bingo, Lotto tickets and crossword puzzles up there!
Jeg vil alltid elkse deg, tante Gladys! Du vil aldri bli glemt! ♥️
Dearest Aunt and Great Aunt Gladys,
You will forever be in our hearts.

We are so saddened by this news. Gladys was a real pal to us and was so energetic. She was a regular at the YMCA as well as an avid dancer and bingo player. We send our condolences to all of the Everson family and friends. Sincerely, Joe and Patricia Scerbo
Gladys was my pool buddy, breakfasts, lunches and travel. I’ll not only miss her optimistic person but her emails, amongst many other wonderful things about her.
