My brother in law Howie was a larger then life human being and always put everyone's needs before his own. He and my sister Arlene brought together a beautiful family of four girls. Together they laid down the best foundation for their children which gave them all the tools to become loving and successful adults. In return, they were blessed with many grandchildren and Howie continued to make sure their Papa showed them how much he loved them. Howie was very proud of his service in the Navy during the Vietnam war, his dedication to his local American Legion and most important his compassion for his adopted brothers & sisters in AA. His calmness, philosophy and positivity in dealing with life was above and beyond the normal. We will miss him immensely but I know he is with his wife who he adored, his parents that it cherished, and his sister Janice who he loved very much. I pray his family and friends can comfort themselves by all the great memories he gave all of us. God bless

Howard Charles my big brother Howie! Throughout my life I looked up to you and was so proud to be known as Howie Kalistas baby sister. Our conversations of late reminiscing about childhood memories right through to the present were so special and heartwarming to me. I will cherish them as I do you. You overcame many obstacles in life with your great strength. Yes , YOU WERE STRONG! Now HCK take a deep breath and finally Rest In Peace. With my love always, Your “younger” sister, Rita. xo
