I feel like a part of me died yesterday. My recollection of "da boyz" can't be complete without you in it. I have so many good memories and it is hard to choose one. I remember driving up to a reunion picnic and seeing you on the mound pitching yelling "Oxygen!" when someone hit the ball. That was you... you made us laugh. You made us believe that nothing was worth being "too" serious about. I remember calling you from all over the country just to hear your "Peter Gunn" routine. I never failed to have a good insightful conversation no matter where I was in life or geographically. You touched a lot of people. Oddly, many of the "boyz" never had brothers and you, are and will always be my friend and brother.

I always liked hanging out with the friends of my older brother and sister, and 'Fitz' was always the kindest man, even as a teenager. He never treated me like a pesky kid (which I was) but always with respect and kindness. I'm sorry to hear of his premature passing and have nothing but the fondest memories of him.
condolence-advertisement Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

John, my brother, my friend and confidant, a fond farewell to you. All of the posts from Ryan's recollection rang true to me also. The flying Ace on Skis, good thing you gave up motorcycling at an early age, lawn mowing as well!. I remember you training for a boxing match running along side of me on a bicycle holding your cigarette. The Student Education League Foundation (SELF) candy selling experience working for the guy with the pointy shoes and greasy hair surreptitiously selling candy door to door with an implausible explanation of where the profits went :). My favorite was when you came to Stowe with my little brother Alex to ski, I lived in the sticks: you took Alex "skitching" on the back of your car in the dead of night in a snowstorm, he came back driving your car (he was about 12) when I asked him where you were he was surprised that you were still not attached to the bumper of the car as you had switched positions with him somewhere along the way. Luckily we were able to follow the car tracks back and found you miles from my house. It was always an adventure with you my friend. My favorite line from you: " a lie is just as good as the truth as long as someone believes it". I just got off the phone sharing condolences with Patti and Katie and shared some great moments with her as well. I loved Bago,s quote "that it seemed like a good idea at the time", no truer words were spoken by you. Until we meet again my brother. Warmest regards and rest in peace it was a great life and you lived it to the fullest. Patrick R. Miller

We will always remember you for your smile, gift of gab and sense of adventure. I will always remember our trip to Connecticut on foot in winter ,sleeping under the Throgs Neck Bridge in February until we got a ride hitchhiking. Seemed like a good idea at the time . Will always remember our adventures at sea on your Sea Ray the LICS, we actually did catch fish ! Our attempts at skiing and trip to Stowe,Vt. ,our unending raucous youth on Long Island. The poker games in the senior lounge at Maria Regina, Aunt Angie's ,our trips to Lake Champlain, so many more. The memories will live on and be retold many times . Until we meet again. Rest in peace my friend and Godspeed.
