The Cartwright family wishes to extend our sincerest sympathy to the entire Catherall Family - Maryann, Michael, Laura and Thomas, along with John’s wife and girls. We just learned of John’s passing and are saddened by the news. We will keep close to our hearts the memories that our families shared of Our Lady of Grace in the Bronx. May God’s grace and strength be with you during this time of sorrow.
My family and I are so very sorry for the loss of John. Our deepest sincere condolences go out to all of the Catherall family. My Bronx memories of our childhood friendship will always be remembered and cherished.
I worked at Patterson Belknap for 20 years and got to know John there. He was loved by both my husband and me. Every now and then we laughed about the good times we had with him. Our deepest blessings and condolences are with you dear family and friends, in celebration of his life. His light still shines brightly.
Deepest condolences to the Catherall family for their loss. Mr. Catherall was so kind to the Seton Hall Cross Country family, and we couldn't be more grateful. He was always our number one fan, and such a fun person to be around. He will be dearly missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My Dear Friend John, for the times I’ve been in your company at your sister Laura’s house at her BBQ’s I’ve enjoyed your company and said to my self this guy is one of a kind, true blue, funny and your Love was so infectious toward everyone. My Heart is broken that you were taken away way to soon from all that Love you. Please watch over us all.
Rest In Peace my Dear Friend
John's death is a great loss. He was a true professional, one of the people you always wanted to have on your litigation team. In addition to his diligence, he could keep everyone's spirits up in windowless hotel conference rooms at 2 A.M. preparing for the next day in court. I sometimes wondered whether John wore braces not for style but so that his colleagues could "snap" them and let off some steam. And when the work was done, John knew how to relax. What smooth moves on the dance floor ! My condolences to John's family and his friends for this loss.
To Mike and Theresa and the Catherall Family. We are very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Sincere condolences to the Catherall Family. Rest In Peace John
John was a true gentleman. Impeccably dressed all the time and with a wicked sense of humor. I will always have fond memories of the years we worked together. You have fought a good fight and you have finished your race. Now rest peacefully in the bosom of your Maker.
John the photo says it all, it’s like you’re toasting with God, that was the Catherall I knew, you knew baseball lore, though soccer miffed you, you were a true patron to the arts of the region (beautiful paintings in your office) and you would always speak highly of artists, thinkers and work-a-days, and so very proud of your kids. It will be hard to forget the great arguments du jour we had, and that you never, ever backed down (but could laugh the whole thing off) and of course such impeccable taste in clothes – Rest in Peace John, my hats off to you
My deepest condolences to the Catherall family, John you were always classy and could cut a rug on the dance floor, may you rest in peace.
My heartfelt condolences. While we did not work closely, I did not have to know John well to know he was the best. It was evident in his mannerisms and classy self. Always kind, sincere and selfless in many ways. He knew when to joke and he knew how to joke. It was a pleasure to have known him.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
