Joseph Everett Linekin

Joseph Everett Linekin, 93, of Holbrook, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 22, 2019.
Everett was born on December 8, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, as the third of ten children to the late James Linekin and Marguerite (”Rita”) Hayes Linekin. After joining the Marine Corps in 1943 at the age of 17, Everett served in WWII and was active duty through 1946. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1947 to 1951, married Kathleen Hurley, established a career in sales, had three children and built his dream home in Holbrook, where he resided for 52 years. Everett was a practicing Catholic and along with his wife was an active member of Good Shepherd R.C.Church.
Everett was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen Hurley Linekin, his children Stephen Linekin (Vicki), Carolann Linekin and Maureen Linekin as well as his beloved dog Sara. Everett’s memory will live on through his seven grandchildren Andrew Anderson, Conor Linekin, Victoria Anderson, Cade Linekin, Caroline Anderson, Olivia Gohn (Thomas) and Laurel Linekin. He was also anticipating the birth of his first Great-Gandchild due in November 2019. Everett will be missed by his surviving siblings, Marguerite (“Peggy”) Brennan, Gerald (“Jerry”) Linekin, Robert (“Bobby”) Linekin and Patricia (“Pat/Sissy”) Linekin, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Everett was preceded in death by his sisters Phyllis Linekin and Jeanne Wecker and his brothers Lawrence (“Larry”) Linekin, Paul Linekin, and James Linekin.
Visitation will be held at Moloney’s Funeral Home, Holbrook, NY, on Sunday, May 26 2019 from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and on Monday, May 27, 2019 from 2:00pm-5:00pm with a Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd R.C.Church on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 9:45am, followed by interment in Calverton National Cemetery,Calverton,NY.
