Lorita Rubino

d. April 28, 2021

On Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, before sunrise, while the moon and stars still filled the sky, Lorita Rubino passed away at age 90.  Lorita, or “Lori” as she preferred, was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and beloved great grandmother.

Lori was born on January 20th, 1931 in New York, NY to Antoinetta and Tony Firriolo. After graduating high school, she married Vincent Rubino on May 23rd, 1953. Together they raised one son, Michael.  Lori would go on to play a large role in helping to nurture and raise her granddaughter, Amy. Lori helped to care for her grandson, Michael II, a little as well.

Lori was kind, generous, eccentric, and a complete firecracker of a woman. She was devoted to her faith, her family and helping anyone anywhere anytime. Lori worked as a secretary for part of her youth, but spent her most of her years as a home maker.  She loved to help her neighbors and anyone in need. In her spare time, Lori loved to read, play handball, sew, take daily walks, bird watch, listen to music by her favorite singer (Dick Haymes), watch TV, as well as attend church and pray. She did a rosary every day, always praying for others.   Lori also had an appreciation for Ballet and fine art. One of her favorite places to spend time in her youth was The Met Cloisters Museum in New York City.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, father, and beloved brother, Anthony.  She is survived by her husband, Vincent, their son, Michael and his wife, Carol, grandchildren, Amy and her husband, Edward, Juliana, Michael II, and great granddaughter, Isabelle.

Lori will be missed, but her memory will always be cherished by her loved ones. She passed after a full life, at peace with the world and ready to be reunited with her beloved grandmother, mother, brother and pet dog, Princy.
