I was so sad to hear of your loss. It brought back memories of when our family lost our dad five years ago. Our dads worked together in the US Customs. We wish you all strength and love at this very sad time.

Louis Piropato, 91, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 20, 2020 in East Islip, New York. Dad was born on December 21, 1928 in Woodside, New York and attended high school at Brooklyn Tech. Dad is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary; children Leonard (Cheryl), Lorraine (Greg) Kersting, Louis (Maryann), Robert, John (Stacy), and Mark (Tammy); 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers Sal and John. Aside from his devotion to his family, Dad was a passionate New York Yankees fan and knew the words to every song ever recorded by Frank Sinatra. Dad took pride in providing for his family, often working two or three jobs to make ends meet. In his long career, he worked as an airline radio mechanic and later found his calling as a National Import Specialist for U.S. Customs, specializing in clocks, watches and jewelry from his office at 6 World Trade Center. Dad, we miss you already but know you are in a place of comfort and peace.
