Shani Carter left a message on February 4, 2018:
I thank the Heavenly Father for light and smile you brought into a room and into our lives, and it will never be duplicated. Your teachings, beliefs and honor, there will never be another. You kept us laughing, our bellys full and gave everyone a piece of your heart. You were the best in helping the rest, you never ever gave that old devil the least little acknowledgement, you wouldn't see the bad in anyone because your heart was like platinum and filled with the Holy Spirit. You would extend that olive branch and tell us "wait now, look let me tell you....I said to myself" and what followed was a joyful message to abide by and take note. Without you I would have never learned what is was to be a respectable woman, to honor my family and remain professional in every aspect. Did i say our belly's were always full. Aunt Mable thank you and I love you, so as you cross over to be with Uncle Ed and our love ones I know for every act of kindness I spread I know your spirit covers me. You were a provider, protector, mother, chef, counselor, nurse, planner, wife, and there will never be another who could wear all those hats and still manage to smile. We will miss you, but to be with God is to suffer no more........your Sister Myra, niece Shani and Family

Mable was one of the sweetest and kindest souls I ever met. We didn't know each other well. I will never forget a bad day I had and was skulking around the kitchen after a chorus rehearsal. She had come in early and was very caring. Even though she didn't know my name she gave me a hug and was an ear to listen. Rest with the angels in Heaven in peace.

May the family of Ms. Mable find comfort from our Heavenly Father who comforts us during our trials and who will soon have his son Christ Jesus resurrect those who have fallen asleep in death.(John 5:28,29). When Jesus was on earth he demonstrated his ability to resurrect the dead. (John 11:11;43). He will do so again on a global scale during his Kingdom that he taught us to pray for. (Matthew 6:9).

Mrs. Mable was a special woman that is hard to find!! Most of my childhood memories include the Stevenson family. They were my next door neighbors. Mrs. Mable looked out for us like we were her own. She was definitely not a force to be reckoned with but had a gentle, kind soul. She has been called and now noins her husband...another great person!! God rest your soul...

I remember her as a woman that loved the children in her community, so much that she and Mrs Flora Wright would open up an after school program that kept us off the streets! She will forever be etched in my heart! Love you and Rest In Peace Mrs. Stevenson
