Patricia J. Blunnie

With great sadness we announce the passing of Patricia J. Blunnie at the age of 85 at St.Catherine’s of Siena Nursing and Rehab on November 10, 2021.
Patricia was born in the Bronx to Francis and Ruth Coyne.
Patricia was mother to John, Kathleen, Patty Jo and Daniel. She raised her children with love and devotion in Central Islip with her husband John of 44 years.
Patricia was a very active member of her community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Central Islip Public Library for almost 30 years. She ran bingo at the Knights of Columbus and St. John the Baptist. In her younger years she was actively involved in the Christian Mother’s of St. John of God. Every year she purchased clothing and gifts for a local family in need on behalf of the Christian Mothers. After her children were grown she worked as a security guard at the Central Islip High School.
She is survived by her brother Michael and his wife Marsha; her sister-in-law and best friend Claire; her children John, Kathleen, Patty Jo and Daniel; their spouses Cindy, John, Louis, and Katrina; her grandchildren John James (Nini), Brendan (Rebecca), Emily, Noah, Toby, Anna, Conner, Jessica, Oden, and Leo; and her great grandson Luke.
She is preceded in death by her husband John and her brother Thomas.
Patricia has touched the lives of so many with her unconditional love, generosity and kindness. She will be forever missed.
