Phil had a very special place with the Barry Family. He was a loyal friend to our dad. We are grateful for Phil checking in our mom frequently for years and years after our dad passed. It took years, but my mom finally figured out who the mystery coffee mug Santa was. Both his life and faith continue to be an inspiration.

I was not able to say goodbye from/on earth to him, but I will surely say hello to Phil in Heaven one day: "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so (we believe) God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him" 1Thessalonians 4:14

Phil, I met you 18 years ago and you were so friendly to me. You talked to me and called me and asked how I was. You recognized me as a professional and had me work at your house. We drank real good coffee and we had real good conversations. When you traveled you brought me momentos back for me. At Christmas you bought me gifts. I never really said THANK YOU! I am a better person for have known you. Tom
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

To Phil's 3 sons whom I grew up with, your dad was like a brother to me, my parents always considered him more of a son than a nephew. How could you not fall in love with him, he always did crazy things to you then turned away like he was innocent The best part of your dad besides his humor was his generosity and loving heart. I will always remember our Sunday Italian 10 course meals at grandma & grandpa's house and the fights over a card game. Your dad would sit and laugh and get the aunts fussing more, then roll around and laugh..he loved to make you laugh..He always would call me to see how I was or just to chat, I will definitely miss his calls. When you asked him about how he was he always said I leave it up to God. I guess God said it was time and took him.

Phil has been my sponsor and friend for over 26 years. When I first met him I was in a very dark place. He taught me spirituality and humility. He never seeked the limelight being comfortable always being in the background.Once as I was serving as church lector @ Holy Cross church I noticed this man bringing coffee to the priest as we were preparing for the mass. Another time As I was making my Cursillo I noticed this man once again being the fellow that delivered bagels for everyone.I felt so blessed that I was able to spend some time with him on Tuesday and make him chuckle a bit reminiscing at some of the pranks he used to pull.I was able to relay some remarks other friends said about him and how much he was loved by our special group.I know you made it to Heaven Phil see if you can put in a good word for the rest of us.Thank you for being my friend! I love you .
