One of the memories I have been thinking about is when Danielle, Kelly, and I were taking a trip into the city- Mr. Valenti dropped Danielle off at the train station and made sure we got on the train okay. In all of my memories of Mr. Valenti what shines through is how much he loved and cared about his children. Whether she was getting on a train at Ronkonkoma or living hours away in our old Goethe house, Danielle's safety and wellbeing were always the number one priority. Sending all my love to the Valenti family.
Jordan Rebolini left a message on November 23, 2021:
I’ll always remember his incredible dedication to his family and those close to his family. Things like driving 4 hours to Binghamton to help Danielle when she got a cold, or taking time out of his multiple busy days to try and help me get a job during tough times, even if the conversations would meander a bit after a while. Truly selfless and caring, and a warm presence in everyone’s lives.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

It was always so clear to me the length that Mr. Valenti would go to to assist his family and friends in any way he could. He even gave me his old car many years ago and I was just a friend of danielle's. I have met him countless times over the years and his dedication to his family was always apparent. He will be missed.

Best word to describe Richie is selfless. He would always look out for others and we all knew and appreciated it. An extraordinary man who will be missed.
Silver left a message on November 23, 2021:
I’m really sorry for our loss, and wish I could be there with you all today. Uncle Richie was always such a fun person to be around; I always thought he was so funny when I was little, it didn’t really matter what he said. He always made visiting the Valenti’s that much more fun. I’ll miss him tons. Love from Silver

Ashley Farrell left a message on November 23, 2021:
Richie was an amazing father and the love for his children was apparent in all his actions. If anyone in his family even slightly mentioned they liked anything, Richie would immediately go out and buy enough of it to survive the apocalypse. He was always the "driver" for his children and his friends. He drove us to ice skating lessons when we were younger, sometimes blasting his favorite afroman song. And then later in life to shows in NYC, always eager to set a new record with time. And then when the garmin GPS came out he found a worthy opponent and loved testing his direction route against it to Danielle's friends houses. He was the sweetest man and would do anything for anyone. I know he is watching over his family and his presence will always be felt around them.

Lea left a message on November 22, 2021:
I will forever be grateful for the kindness of Rich. When I was very sick with covid and all were locked in, he went out of his way to make sure my son and I had the things we needed. Care packages of gaterade, tylenol, masks, gloves and even a thermometer were left on my stoop. He offered to pickup anything I needed. What a kind, caring man. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you all our love, Lea, Dave & Stephen

My first memory with Richard is that he showed me New Order and The Smiths in one go. From that point on it was a series of memories in the car. He was always so quick to pick up Danielle and us whenever we needed, any time (and in expert record commute times). That kind of dedication to family is something we take for granted in life. It's hard to realize at the time, especially as kids how kindhearted those types of actions are. Then, I remember one time, when a tree fell right behind Richard's car. He told us that if he was driving just one or two miles per hour differently, it could've been a fatal crash. Looking back on it now, I'm grateful that we were granted so much more time with him then the possibility presented on that night. More recently is when I got to know Richard the most. When I needed help with a creative project last year, he was very quick to step up and offer his support. We had a series of phone calls where he was ready to go very much out of his way. I'll always appreciate it. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Sending you all my love.

My sincere condolences to the Valenti family. I first met Richie working together in LIRR movement bureau, he then went on to be a manager. Richie was a loyal and good friend, and he was an excellent manager. He always made us laugh with his crazy stories (which were all true)! He was so proud of his children and he was a true family man. Richie would help anyone regardless of what he had going on! He will be sorely missed. RIP my friend.

Robert Coombs left a message on November 21, 2021:
I did not have the opportunity to spend much time with Richie Valenti, but from my time with his daughter it was clear how much of a selfless and loving father he was. He always had time for his children and their friends - always available for an airport run, a pick up from the city after a Brooklyn show, or to throw some food on the barbecue for everyone at their house. I’ll always remember when Danielle had a bad case of the infamous chronic Binghamton cold and he drove all the way up from Long Island (in 2 hours flat) to drop off cold medicine and cough drops or when he drove up to ensure the area we were moving to in Binghamton city was a safe place. The love he had for his family and the general desire to help all those around him in whichever way he could was immediately evident for anyone who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance.

So many memories! Catching him playing a race car driving game while sitting in the car after a long drive (probably about to set off on another long drive). Watching him fix our water heater, gas tank, and literally everything else when we lived on Warren St. Countless drives to and from Binghamton, the airport, you name it. Dani, he loved you so much. Sending you a gigantic hug and all my love. Kelly
