Sandra Tempesta

Sandra Tempesta, 81 of Hauppauge, NY lost her struggling battle to Alzheimer’s disease. Sandra was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
In 1956 Sandra had met Chester while working at Dan River Mills. July of 1960 Sandra and Chester got married and later had four beautiful daughters. From the daughter’s eyes they looked up to their parents, who taught them what love truly means.
One memory they all shared with Sandra was that she was their number one supporter regardless of what they did (and they did a lot wrong). Sandra would punish them and within a couple of minutes ask them why they are inside and to go outside and enjoy the day.
Sandra was not only an amazing wife, mother but she was an amazing grandmother to nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Sandra showed each and every single grandchild and great-grandchild all of her love. Sandra left many memories for everyone to share.
Sandra would keep a white cup in the cabinet for when the ice cream man would come around for all the grandkids to get ice cream. Sandra would always go for walks with the grandkids either around the bubble as she would call it or at 7pm at night she would tell them to get their flashlights because they were going on a midnight walk. Sandra was loved by the entire neighborhood she would always give cookies out to dogs passing by with their owners going for a walk and giving out cookies to kids of the neighborhood she was then named the “Cookie Lady”. There are endless memories.
Sandra always put a smile on everyone’s faces and will continue to do so even with her being gone. She was such a selfless, caring women that would do anything for anyone in need. Sandra could have a conversation with anyone even if it wasn’t someone she knew.
