Teresa F. Johann

Teresa F. Johann (nee Larkin) passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at her home in Flemington, NJ on May 13, 2019. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Johann.

Born on October 15, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to Eugene and Teresa (Henz) Larkin. She was the sister to seven brothers; Edward, Paul, William, Larry, Charles, Richard and George.

Teresa is survived by her thirteen children; Edward (Dawn), Dianne, Thomas (Charlene). Eugene (Donna), Linda, George (Hope), Teresa (Dennis), Lorraine, Craig (Maureen), Scott (Amanda), Carol (Randy), Carl (Racine), and Anna Marie (John). She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

In 1947, Teresa married Edward after his return from serving in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific arena. In 1954 they relocated from Brooklyn to Bellport, NY. After Edward’s passing in 1975, Teresa worked for the Bellport School district, the IRS and later retired from the United States Post Office.

Teresa loved spending as much time as possible with her family. She was very active in her church, taught religion and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Teresa was a member of her local VFW for over 50 years, and always was involved in community events and efforts.

Teresa was loved and respected by all and was considered the matriarch of the family. Her family and friends will always remember her as kind, loving, giving, and supportive. She would encourage everyone to pursue their goals and happiness in life. We will always treasure her handmade crochet and knitted gifts. Teresa will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
