I’m sorry to hear about Tom passing. He set the bar for me about what a great coach & man should be. It was an honor working with him while I was studying to be an Athletic Trainer at CW Post. He will certainly be missed, but the lives he touched are better for having known him.
Sue Postel left a message on October 22, 2021:
I will miss you my love
Jiggs McDonald left a message on October 21, 2021:
My deepest condolences
Gregory Tarone left a message on October 20, 2021:
There can be no adequate amount of sympathy we could give to Sue and the family for their loss, and they have it, but the lacrosse world remembers now and should not forget what Tommy did in his lifetime for the game we all love, and certainly love no more than him. He was a good as Jimmy Lewis but did not have the opportunity to prove it in college. He not only boosted the L.I. Lacrosse Club but--very significantly--put C.W. Post lacrosse on the map, and will be forever a true Pioneer! He made me a lacrosse player.

I met Tommy when he was the service bartender and i was a waitress. Although i usually had to wait for my drinks because he was in the middle of a joke ( sound familiar?) we all became great friends. i have so many great memories of camping at Indian Island with our families and will always remember him with a smile. He gave so much to his family friends and student athletes. He will be missed
JOHN S. GILSENAN left a message on October 17, 2021:
Sincere condolences to the entire Postel Clan. I learned in the recent past of the loss of Ritchie and Mary Ann who was a Class of 1961 graduate with me at H Frank Carey. Now Tom joins them. I recall as well Frannie who was the youngest among them. I'm sure there are many nieces and nephews and maybe some grand children as well to mourn their passing. All the Postel kids were stand up individuals and an example to the students at Carey High. Warm regards, John

So sad to hear of the passing of Coach Postel. His coaching skills were unparalleled but his ability to inspire, motivate and bring out the best in people and players were his true gift and legacy. To have had him as a coach in High School was such a privilege. I chose and wore his number 14 in college and on every club team I played for. I hope you are at peace. You will be missed. With love and admiration. Doug, or as Coach called me Dougie Fierro

I had the good fortune to have Tom as a coach (Manhasset High School - 1971-1973) and teammate (Freeport Summer League and Long Island Lacrosse Club). He was always an absolute gentleman on and off the field. He would often suit up in our high school practices to show us how EMO should really work. My thoughts and prayers go out to the extended Postel family.
