Phillip Lolonis left a message on November 27, 2015:
My condolences Aunt Susan, Christine, Kim, Noel and your families. When I heard Uncle Billy passed I had three stories pop into my head immediately. First was the pictures at your home showing Uncle Billy receiving the medals from(I believe) Mayor Ed Koch for his bravery. I wonder where those he saved are today, including their families. Second, was when I visited in the summer( I was probably 13) and went fishing with Uncle Billy. I'd never fished like that before. We went out and used a pyramid shaped large weight with a large hook on the end. I couldn't believe you didn't need bait to catch a fish. He showed me how to hook them on their sides and in their gills. Then he showed me how to cut those fish and use them as bait for the big boys. Very cool. I use that technique in CA today. Lastly, was that same summer, I enjoyed( It was like a drug!) lighting off the confiscated fireworks from Uncle Billy and his friends. It was at his friends house (Red, I believe) and I let off so many at once and continuously that Uncle Billy's friends were concerned I was a pyromaniac. They were correct but I managed to make it through adolescence without burning anything down. Good memories and I enjoyed spending time with Uncle Billy. May your families continue honoring the good times. God bless. Phillip
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
