Moloney's Lake Funeral Home & Cremation Center

For more than six decades, Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home & Cremation Center has served as the flagship location of the Moloney Family Funeral Homes. Opened in 1961 by Dan Moloney Sr., our Lake Ronkonkoma facility has long been a place where families throughout Suffolk County and Long Island come together to honor life, remember loved ones, and begin the healing process. Built on a foundation of compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail, this location continues to reflect the Moloney family’s commitment to meaningful and personalized funeral services.

A Central, Accessible Location in Lake Ronkonkoma

Conveniently located at 132 Ronkonkoma Avenue, our Lake Ronkonkoma funeral home is centrally positioned for families traveling from both the North Shore and South Shore of Long Island. The facility is situated just one mile from the Long Island Rail Road and is easily accessible from major highways, including the Long Island Expressway. Being located just off the LIRR and LIE makes it simple for local and out-of-town guests alike to attend services without added stress during an already difficult time.

Our Lake Ronkonkoma location offers ample on-site parking and is designed to comfortably welcome large gatherings while remaining warm and inviting for smaller, more intimate services.

A Beautiful Facility Designed to Welcome and Comfort

From the moment you arrive, Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home & Cremation Center offers a sense of peace and reassurance. The facility features a grand foyer that warmly welcomes guests as they enter. Inside, three elegantly furnished chapels provide flexible options for services of all sizes, with seating for over 100 people. These chapels can be used individually or combined, allowing families to customize the space to reflect their needs and preferences.

Each chapel is thoughtfully equipped with coffee stations for guests, helping create a welcoming environment during visitations and gatherings. Beyond the interior spaces, our beautifully manicured grounds include fountains, peaceful sitting areas, and The Garden - offering quiet outdoor spaces for reflection, conversation, and moments of calm.

An on-site crematory further allows us to provide families with continuity of care, dignity, and peace of mind throughout every step of the process.

Cemetery and Burial Coordination

Moloney’s Lake Ronkonkoma location regularly works with local cemeteries, including Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and Lake Ronkonkoma Cemetery. In addition, we frequently assist families with burial arrangements at cemeteries throughout Queens, Brooklyn, and other locations within the five boroughs of New York City. Our experienced funeral directors handle the logistics and coordination, ensuring that all details are managed with care and professionalism, regardless of location.

Traditional Funeral Services with Burial

A traditional funeral service with burial typically includes three main components: a visitation, a funeral service, and burial at the chosen cemetery. Each aspect of the service can be tailored to reflect your family’s traditions, beliefs, and personal wishes.

The visitation provides an opportunity to commemorate a life lived, offer condolences, and support one another. Eulogies, prayers, and personal tributes often take place during this time. Families may choose the location, timing, tone, and atmosphere of the visitation, whether formal or more relaxed.

The funeral service is usually held at a church or place of worship on the morning of the burial. Following the service, the burial takes place at the cemetery, where a brief committal service and final farewell are conducted by clergy or the funeral director. Our staff is here to guide you through each step and to discuss additional burial service options that may better suit your family’s needs.

Traditional Funeral Service with Cremation

For families who choose cremation while still desiring a traditional structure, a traditional funeral service with cremation includes a visitation, funeral service, and committal service, all with a casket present. Cremation takes place following the committal service.

The committal service is a brief, meaningful ceremony led by the funeral director and is followed by a final farewell. At our Lake Ronkonkoma facility, this service may take place in the Tribute Center or within the Committal Garden on the grounds, offering families a serene and private setting.

Memorial Services and Celebrations of Life

When cremation occurs prior to services, families may choose a memorial service with the urn present. Memorial services provide flexibility in timing and location and can be held at the funeral home, a church, an event venue, or another meaningful place. These services can be formal or informal, traditional or modern, while still honoring the life and legacy of your loved one.

Celebrations of Life are often more informal and joyful gatherings that focus on honoring a person’s journey and cherished memories. The Tribute Center at Moloney’s Lake Ronkonkoma location provides an ideal setting for these events, offering a spacious and elegant environment for friends and family to gather.

Cremation Options and Final Resting Places

Choosing a final resting place after cremation is an important decision. Many families select an urn from our wide variety of urns and keepsakes and choose to keep their loved one close at home. Others prefer burial or placement in a cemetery niche, and our funeral directors are available to assist with these arrangements.

Some families find comfort in scattering cremated remains at sea or in a place that held special meaning. Our staff can guide you through local regulations and provide resources to help ensure this is done respectfully and legally.

Personalized Tributes That Tell a Story

At Moloney Family Funeral Homes, we believe every life deserves to be remembered in a way that is as unique as the individual. Our experienced staff specializes in creating personalized services that reflect passions, accomplishments, beliefs, and hobbies.

Families may choose to include custom flowers and gifts, photo boards, memory tables, military or first responder displays, music selections, video tributes, or even live musicians such as bagpipers. Displays of artwork, knitting, sports equipment, or collections can help tell a personal story. Dove or butterfly releases, motorcycle hearses, and themed chapels are just a few of the many options available.

Receptions and Gatherings

With nearly a century of experience, the Moloney family understands how meaningful it can be to gather with loved ones after a service. Our team can assist in planning a reception in our spacious Tribute Center, coordinating with top local caterers to serve favorite foods and comfort dishes that honor your loved one’s memory.

Veteran Services

Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home & Cremation Center is proud to honor those who have served our country. Our knowledgeable staff assists families with obtaining Veterans Affairs benefits and ensures that each veteran’s service and sacrifice are properly recognized with dignity and respect.

At Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home & Cremation Center, families find more than a facility - they find guidance, compassion, and a commitment to honoring life with care and meaning.
