Our Hearts are With America’s Veterans

mkj • Nov 11, 2019

Our team at Moloney Family Funeral Homes agrees: There is no greater honor than caring for veterans and their families. Owner Dan Moloney , himself a U.S. veteran, leads by example in paying tribute to the heroes who give so much to protect our American ideals of freedom, justice, and equality. During times of crisis and times of triumph, our service men and women magnify the spirit of courage and national pride that sets our great country apart.

We want to say thank you to those brave men and women who defend our freedom – and make every effort to do so, starting with flying the United States and veterans’ flags outside our funeral homes in Lake Ronkonkoma , Holbrook , Port Jefferson Station , Bohemia , Center Moriches , and Hauppauge. No other symbol represents the glory and democracy of our nation.

American composer George M. Cohan’s spirited chorus comes to mind: You’re a grand old flag, You’re a high-flying flag, And forever in peace may you wave . . .” These words take on special meaning here at Moloney Funeral Homes , as we meet with veterans and their families to help with their funeral , cremation , and burial needs. Our expert staff is familiar with military benefits and work diligently to ensure veterans and their families receive all the benefits deserved.

We also offer honorably discharged veterans the following:

  • Custom military headstones
  • Flag ceremony
  • Playing of Taps
  • Burial allowances
  • Military honors
  • Financial contributions
  • Help coordinating burial in a national cemetery

Throughout our 75+ years of service , we have been privileged to arrange funerals highlighting military accomplishments. We will never forget the moving moments as soldiers present the folded American flag to a grieving family. What a special way to acknowledge the veteran’s bravery while giving loved ones a memento to treasure and pass down through the generations.

Other ways to commemorate military accomplishments include displaying a uniform at the visitation, showing photos from military days during the funeral service , or setting up a memory table at the reception that features awards, honors, or other items from their time in the service.

We hope it is evident that we take our responsibility to honor military men and women both in life and in death very seriously. When it’s time to pay tribute to the veteran in your life, or if you are a veteran and would like to put your funeral plans in place ahead of time , reach out to our caring team by phone, or stop by any of our seven locations. We are here ready to say thank you to the many brave men and women who have defended our freedom.
